Finding Your Passion or Finding Your Purpose

IT Entrepreneurship Isn’t Just About Passion — It’s About Purpose, Serving Others, and Creating Holistic, Innovative Solutions That Push Technology’s Boundaries and Shape the Future

Purpose Over Passion: Reflections on My IT Entrepreneurship Journey

As an IT entrepreneur, the word ‘purpose’ stands out more than ‘passion.’ Passion fuels curiosity and motivation, but purpose provides direction, ensuring that our work creates meaningful solutions that impact people and communities.

I feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to do work that aligns with my values and serves others.

Purpose Over Profit

In IT, it’s easy to focus on metrics, ROI, and the bottom line, but the true goal is to serve people. Technology should solve real problems, not just innovate for innovation’s sake. Whether it's building applications, enhancing Microsoft 365 workspaces, or automating tasks, the goal is to free up time for what truly matters.

This same purpose drives my community work. The VAN365View Microsoft User Group was founded not for recognition, but to foster knowledge-sharing and collaboration in the tech community. Despite initial doubts, it grew because it was purpose-driven: to build a better city, one idea at a time.

Innovating with Intent

True innovation isn’t about chasing trends—it’s about listening to clients, teams, and communities to identify real gaps and create effective solutions.

At Inside View Global, we prioritize solutions that make a difference. MonkAndu connects mentors and mentees worldwide, fostering wisdom-sharing and growth. The Rabbit streamlines Enterprise Content Management (ECM) deployment in Microsoft 365, enhancing collaboration. Our technology serves people, improving workspaces and fostering connections.

Technology That Pushes Boundaries

Pushing technology’s boundaries isn’t about chasing trends but asking the right questions: What’s needed? How can we do more with less? How do we create sustainable, effective solutions? Balancing innovation with practicality ensures improvements to existing solutions for greater efficiency.

Building a Legacy of Service

Entrepreneurship, for me, is about service—empowering others through technology, mentorship, and community building. I am blessed to contribute to something larger than myself and create positive change.

Entrepreneurship isn’t about immediate rewards; it’s about planting seeds for long-term growth. When we approach work with a service mindset, we create lasting impact. My goal is clear: use technology for good, innovate with intent, and consider both immediate and long-term impacts with a holistic perspective. Never lose sight of the purpose behind your passion—that’s what IT entrepreneurship is all about.
