Lessons from Women Rising: Building Inclusive Communities
On Thursday, January 23rd, several members of our team attended the Women Rising session organized by the Low Entropy Foundation at the Creekside Community Recreation Centre. The event began with Elder Josette Tina Annette’s heartfelt welcome song in her First Nations language, setting an inclusive and warm tone for the day. Maggie Stewart, a community leader, shared her inspiring journey of resilience and belonging, underscoring the importance of creating spaces where people feel valued and connected.
The session also featured a panel discussion with leaders like Paola Murillo, founder of Latincouver, who shared insights on how platforms can unite and empower diverse communities. We are excited to announce that Paola will be the keynote speaker at our Van 365 View event in January. Her leadership journey exemplifies how shared vision and humble collaboration can create stronger, more inclusive communities.
